Merring's Prints and Maps

1691 Antiphonal Music Sheet. Antiphonals are sheets of music that were used by monks for singing/chanting. This beautiful antiphonal was printed in the year 1691. Unlike many antiphonal sheets of the time, which were hand painted on sheepskin, this was printed on hand-laid rag paper using a printing press. The entire text is in Latin. The printing is on both sides of the sheet.
